Melanoma UK has been chosen by Cooperative Funeral Care to be the beneficiary of their membership reward scheme.  The two organisations will work together to provide much needed funds in melanoma research and patient support.

Speaking from their offices in Oldham, Founder of Melanoma UK Gill Nuttall said “We received an email from the local Cooperative Funeral office, informing us that Melanoma UK had been chosen as one of the local causes.  We are delighted to have been chosen and will work with them to make sure the partnership works well.”

Melanoma is now the 5th most common cancer in the UK and in the local area, Melanoma UK has had a number of enquiries from patients who have needed their help.

Lois Ashworth of the Shaw branch said “We’re always keen to support our local causes chosen by coop members. After meeting with Gill and learning about Melanoma UK and seeing her passion, it really enthused us to get involved and help raise some funds for the well deserving organisation. We’re already planning lots of fundraising activities and look forward to working with Gill and the team.”
