In memory of my friend who died of Melanoma.
Melanoma UK provides a much needed service, this is a cancer which is on the increase in the UK and deserves more attention than it currently receives.
This charity gets no government funding, and relies solely on people fundraising and donating. Skin cancer is something that could affect any of us, at any time in our lives.
On Sunday 10th March, myself and my brother Garry will be running the Barcelona Marathon in aid of Melanoma UK for a cause close to our hearts. Melanoma UK provides patients and families with the much-needed support right from the point of diagnosis. Through education, advocacy and research, Melanoma UK strives to increase the awareness, understanding and prevention of melanoma skin cancer, which is the 5th most common cancer in the UK. May is Melanoma and skin cancer awareness month. We are abseiling down the Spinnaker tower to raise money for Melanoma UK, a charity to support victims and their families going through a Melanoma diagnosis.
Because I was diagnosed with melanoma last year I would like to donate to them because of the work and care that they provided for me I would like to give something back to them to say thank you.

In 18 Weeks time I will be running my first half marathon in aid of Melanoma UK. This September marks 10 years since we lost the lovely John, a close family friend who was loved by all. Melanoma UK works closely with those diagnosed with Melanoma, supporting their families and providing the ultimate care.
