SKIN IMAGING SYSTEM GIFTED TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL BIRMINGHAM

We are pleased to announce that another Skin Imaging system is now in situ at the University Hospital of Birmingham.

The Horus Skin Imaging system will help to provide the NHS with the ability to detect and diagnose skin cancers and will be a great asset to the people of the West Midlands. Melanoma UK has supported purchasing this equipment and would like to thank all our donors who have made this possible.

We are also delighted to announce that a fourth machine will be installed in June at Norfolk & Norwich Trust, funded by the Evans family in memory of their son Neil.

Due to the generosity of Melanoma UK donors and through our partnership with Schuco, that will be four state-of-the-art skin cancer imaging machines in the UK.

With each machine and training valued at £50K each, hospitals within the NHS simply do not have budgets for such expensive equipment, and without the support of our donors, they would be unlikely to be able to offer this kind of service.

Together, we really do have the power to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by this disease.
